We discovered this gem last year and my family and I just spent another fabulous week at this house in Ship Bottom. Our family has been vacationing on Long Beach Island for most of my life and we have come to the conclusion that Ship Bottom is a perfect spot. Although the north and south ends of the island each have their own beauty, it can sometimes take up to 45 minutes to an hour to travel to those spots and there's a lot to be said for just popping off the Causeway and being at home. We have quite a lot of people coming and going throughout the week that we are on the island (& my husband commutes to the shore from the Princeton area) and the ease of getting to and from the house quickly is certainly beneficial. The house is immaculate, has so much room that everyone has their own space to enjoy, and has large entertaining areas. As a professional chef, I appreciate the well-stocked kitchen and the flow of the kitchen & dining areas make meal times a joy. There is nothing more relaxing at the end of the day and then to have a nice soak in the beautiful hot tub and enjoy the big sky and stars. The house is perfectly located between both the beach and the bay, so you can enjoy a leisurely stroll to either, and the house-provided cart and beach chairs makes it easy to get back-and-forth. It's really rare to find such a beautiful that is a "pet-friendly home"! Although they only spent one night with us this year, it was wonderful that my two dogs (labs) were able to be in the very spacious home and be comfortable to roam in the fenced-in yard. Although we did most of our cooking at home this year, there are many great restaurants in the area and of course we spent a lot of time at the fabulous local seafood & produce markets. I should also mention how appreciative we were when Joe came to help with a network issue and how fabulous and accomodating Judith is!! The care and attention at every turn is why this is one of THE best homes to rent on LBI!! We are looking forward to spending more time at this beautiful home next year!!
