We just returned from a week at Dave and Dorit's beautiful townhome and the only complaint we have is that we didn't stay longer.
I have stayed in other units at Shoreside but this was overwhelmingly the best one. Everything is top notch: the furniture, the linens and towels, the appliances, the 5 flat screen TVs with cable, the excellent wi-fi connectivity from every room in the house as well as the roof - everything was of the same high quality one would have in their own home. I'm an amateur chef and was thrilled by how well the kitchen was stocked with cookware and tools. To me, it's all in the details and every one of them exceeded my expectations. There were books and magazines to read if we wanted; 3D glasses for the HDTV; nice smelling liquid hand soaps at all the sinks; plenty of bathroom tissue; beach chairs and boogie boards; lovely decor throughout the home. Did I mention the great wi-fi? We felt like we were at a resort.
The location is perfect - you are right across the street from the beach and boardwalk (and our favorite margarita spot, Spicy's) - yet when you closed the sliding door to your room, it was peaceful and quiet. The rooftop deck is a lovely spot for sunset cocktails and to watch the Wednesday night fireworks, or to watch the sunrise over the ocean with your coffee in the morning. Looking around, we commented that we had the best deck furniture of any unit we could see. We didn't get a chance to use the grills, but it was a nice option to have. We liked the pool and hot tub early in the morning or at dinner time, when we usually had them to ourselves.
Dave and Dorit were such a pleasure to deal with. It is clear they take great pride in their home and we are thankful that they were so kind to share it with us. My family created wonderful memories that will last a lifetime, and we are already talking about "next time" at this lovely home.
P.S. - for those staying away from the shore post-Sandy, please don't. Seaside's boardwalk is rebuilt and the Casino pier is adding new rides weekly. Island Beach State Park is as gorgeous as ever, and Point Pleasant and Lavallette are open for business and waiting for you. Ortley and Mantoloking are hurting, but they are rebuilding and will be back. The towns need our business - please come, even if just for a day. Restore the Shore and build new memories.
