                        PERFECT RETREAT

                        4 of 5
We stayed here for a church retreat. Lovely house. Has the 'old-world' feel to it. Beautiful views, AMAZING porch. You feel one with the water down on the dock. One caution--lots of steps, and the hike back up to the house from the dock will take your breath away--but we all need some exercise. All in all, a great stay. We felt like we were staying in a piece of history.

                        FANTASTIC VIEWS

                        5 of 5
We live in New Jersey, just a hop, skip and jump from beautiful Lake Hopatcong, but never vacationed there. Usually my family and I travel all over the east coast of the US to vacation. However, this year being tired of the rigors of the long ride and time lost traveling during the precious days of our vacation period, my wife and I decided to stay local. What a great Idea my wife had. We found this lakefront cottage with all we could ever possibly want! Beautiful lakefront views to wake up to, a place to dock our boat, great fishing, a cozy clean comfortable house that for one week we were proud to call our HOME! There were plenty of great places to dine, many lakeside. The most treasured experience of the vacation were the friendly neighbors that welcomed us so warmly and helped guide us through any way they could. I'm sure that we will be seeing them soon and I can't wait to return.

                        A GREAT ESCAPE!

                        5 of 5
This island getaway just an hour from New York City is like putting yourself inside a painting of a lush lake and charming Victorian-era white house with a huge wraparound porch. The house sits atop a beautiful hilltop with a panoramic view of the deep blue lake. Picture yourself with your morning coffee on this veranda while the lake shimmers in front of you. Or sunning on the dock below waiting to water-ski or swim. You'll never want to leave but if you need a break, restaurants and shopping are a quick boat ride across the lake. The house is meticulously clean and well-maintained; it is also charming and comfortable, with a fireplace in the living room and plenty of cozy bedrooms and sleeping spaces. A hiking trail that leads in a circle around the island is just steps from the back door. Halsey Island reminds you of the very private, stunning, rustic lakes and islands and deep woods near International Falls, Minnesota. But the drive to get there is only a matter of a few hours from many locations in the Northeast. I would recommend this exclusive vacation spot to all family and friends.
