Relaxing, Relaxing, Relaxing

We stayed at the cabin for three nights at the end of June. As a lifelong Central NJ resident, I decided to find out what Northern Jersey is all about and this cabin was a very good starting place. The cabin was clean and fully equipped right down to the firewood. The swimming beach on Culver Lake is a perfect place to spend the afternoon. Mom gets to sit in the shade on a nice grassy lawn and the kids can play in the sand and water. Beautiful Stokes State Forest is only a couple of miles away and you can even hike a part of the Appalachian Trail (which we did, of course). There are quite a few things to discover in the area, but we'll have to do that next time. An evening fire in the cabin's chiminea ended the day perfectly. We made smores on the fire every night and even cooked a few hot dogs on sticks. Sitting on the back porch provided lovely and peaceful views of the woods and wildlife. It was a perfect place to read a book. We hope to return next spring, for sure. Thank you, Barbara, for your hospitality.

It has what they promise !

My family had a wonderful time at this lovely property. We plan to return when we can. The house is roomy, the bedrooms have beautiful views and the porch is even better than the pictures online. We didn't realize how easy it was to go from quiet afternoons reading to taking little dips in the nicely developed lake-shore water area, in easily handled kayaks. A fully-stocked grocery store and lake-side restaurant are within a minute or less. We spent one of the hottest weeks of the Jersey summer enjoying cool breezes 24/7 on this Culver Lake house, which is just an hour away from New York City environs. A delightful (and very reasonable) winner of a vacation spot!
