My family and I had a wonderful early spring weekend at the Cardinal's Culver Lake Cabin. We arrived in a snow storm on Friday afternoon only to be met by Paul, Barbara and Richard's son, who was sporting a backhoe and cleared off the driveway for us to park safely. It only got better from there. We had plenty of wood to burn in their enormous fire place, comfy beds and couches, a lovely kitchen and dinning room with many small amenities that just made us feel at home. This is the heart of it; the Cardinal's have somehow created an atmosphere where everyone feels at home both with them and also in their cabin. We were at once absorbed by the fact that this cabin was one of 11 historical units built in the 1920's but fully updated with every modern convenience. From our base in Culver Lake we used our weekend to visit Raymondskill Falls, Millbrook Sugar Camp reenactment, Shops in quaint Lafayette, and had several meals in the Chatterbox, one of our favorite local restaurants. Great mini vacation at a reasonable price.
