My mother and I joined my brother and his wife at this house the week before Memorial Day. This was the most relaxing week I've had in years, literally! I would recommend this vacation home to anyone looking for a peaceful spot that is still accessible to, well, everything!
The house itself was gorgeous and extremely spacious. It was very tastefully decorated and seemed to be very well maintained. I loved that the whole back of the house on the main floor was all windows with sweeping views of the deck and the water.
The bedrooms were all very roomy and cozy. My brother and his wife stayed in the master bedroom with attached bath, while my mother and I shared the 2nd larger bedroom. LOVED the king-sized bed, which was perfect for me, mom and our puppy! If you have kids along, they would love the other bedroom with 2 single beds, and and attached, carpeted nook with bunks, PC w/ FIOS wifi and futon. We found another cot in a desk cabinet downstairs, so LOTS of bed space! Loved the upstairs hallway bath, too... whirlpool tub, lots of lighting in the room AND in shower/tub area, fan, and heat! We totally appreciated that Debbie, the owner, provided bath and beach towels and linens(although we brought our own sheets).
The dining room area was lovely and we spent time doing jigsaw puzzles on the table. The kitchen area was well-appointed with modern appliances and island seating. The fridge held a MUCH-APPRECIATED tasty treat left by Debbie - THANKS!! The garage attached to that side of the house was filled with all kinds of toys and beach chairs etc.
We spent a good bit of time out on the deck where there were plenty of chairs and loungers. The entire back deck area is blocked off by privacy fences and gates, which was perfect, since we brought our dogs! They loved hanging out on the deck and watching the birds and the activity on the bay. We also had a swan that visited every day, and brought its mate and 7 babies on our last day! Beware - swans will hiss if your dog gets too close!
The location on the cul-de-sac was private, quiet, and supremely peaceful, yet accessible to activity and dining options. Point Pleasant Beach was an easy drive 15min. or so North, and Seaside Heights is a mere 10min. south. Favorite meals were at Spano's on Arnold Ave. in Point Pleasant Beach and Captain Ed's Place in Point Pleasant(steak-on-a-stone is a MUST!). SO glad my sister-in-law found this vacation house for us to visit!
