Far exceeded our expectations!

I am one of a group of six college friends who gets together every year for a weekend in the fall. This was my year to plan the weekend and I chose this rental based on the add I saw on this site. It was exactly as promoted. My friends and I have been going on these weekend for 30 years and we all agreed that this was the cleanest most well appointed rental we have ever stayed in. It was like staying at a friend's house where they have everything you need and they encourage you to use it. The owner was a delight to work with. She answered all my questions before I booked and was available by phone if we had any questions during our stay. She left detailed instructions to let us know where everything was so our stay was stress-free. The property is right on the lake so we were able to sit by the water and enjoy the view. Enjoying the sunrise was a special treat. The location on a quiet gravel road meant easy access to a nice walk to start each day. We spent time in Wolfeboro (great little town!) and also went to Castle in the Clouds. I highly recommend Up Country - and I hope to return for another stay!

It's like new sight to the blind! Correct lenses!

I cannot express the intimacy and connectiveness this property has brought between my wife and my kids and I. It's very surprising given its close proximity to one of the top tourist destinations in the country, but when we get to this island property, all time and distractions cease from occupying our minds. We revert to candlelight, simpler pleasures, sitting, talking in depth, noticing things we never have the space to notice, sounds that were previously undetectable, wind, crystal clear water, trusting fish that swim up to you so you can marvel at them, hours of exploration during the day among the little islands and features surrounding this property and then solitude at night with lanterns, the sound of the old water pump, grilled food over a fire or on the gas stove.... it's magical, truly magic that catches you off guard and stays with you for months as we reflect back on our shared experience. I know we will think back to those days and the personal connections and transition from the world with great fondness and dreamy reflections for years and years to come. Thank you for your generosity Steve and Gail... Dave, Wendy and the kids...
