GREAT HOUSE, GREAT TIME & GREAT HOSTS!

5 of 5
From the moment we walked in we knew this was going to be our favorite vacation home! Within an hour of our arrival we had on the snowshoes that the owners provide and we were out enjoying the sights in back of the house along the Saco River. The kitchen has the look and feel of a farmhouse and it's very well stocked and the large fireplace is situated in such a way that it can be enjoyed from the kitchen as well as the living room. I couldn't get over how roomy and comfortable the bedrooms were and it was great that each one had its own private bath. I can't think of anything that I didn't like except that I wasn't staying longer. Linda & Jay were great and so willing to do anything to make our stay enjoyable. You can bet we'll be back again!'

Very warm beautifull historical house.

4 of 5
Nothing was missing for our comfort. Plenty of dishes and glasses for 10. The beds are confortable and clean. The house may need a little bit of love (Ceiling cracked,...). It's a bit cold on the second floor. You may need an independent heater in the bathroom. We live in an 19 century house and we always appreciate old houses. Overall, I would recommend it.

White Mountains Trip

5 of 5
We are a 4-generation group of 10 and we had a blast! Where do we start to describe our memorable stay in your wonderful home! How many firsts our family was able to have! Examples: On our way to the property we saw sun dogs! A 4 year old girl caught snowflakes on her tongue for the first time. An 8 year old boy found a snow mole and the excitement spread through all the children, even the 11 year old girl found the mole had hidden in her jacket. And, the 3 year old boy couldn't get enough sledding...Awesome! Dad, let's do it again! the cooperation of building 2 snowmen, face to face (complete with Neill's kit) and a snow cave deep enough to hide in, which also was used as a mini-ski jump. Oh, yes, the house. The house was like a favorite grandparent's home, warm and welcoming. Well-stocked with what would be expected and some not expected, like some sleds for the children to enjoy. Clean and comfortable. No surprises, equal or better than the description. Plenty of room to spread out, some in the living room by the fire, watching TV, some using the dining room table, playing cards, while others were in the kitchen but all within earshot able to participate in whatever was going on. And a library to drool over. What freedom a place like this provided to a 4- generation family. We relished the opportunity to play at sledding as long as we like, not being rushed off to some other activity because it was time. Our host, Neill, is the ideal host, responsive but not intrusive. Ask and he helps (and helps, and helps) but always respects privacy. Each of us left with special memories that we will re-live often during our family get-to-gethers. The serenity of a snowfall. The thrill of the downhill sled (even though the mittens were shredded) And I, the great-grandmother, have so many pictures, both real and in my head! What a present! I guess what said it all was my granddaughter asking if I could buy a place like this for our family to use. Neill came up with the perfect solution...I can rent this again...which my family will campaign for, I'm sure!
