We arrived just before the first major snowstorm of the year, just in time to cozy up, relax, and enjoy the serenity of this mountain retreat. It was a perfect spot for our Thanksgiving vacation with a well-stocked gourmet kitchen, a vaulted dining room with seating for 8+, connections for all kinds of multimedia, and plenty of bedroom/bathroom space for our family. This place well exceeded our expectations for quality, and Vladimir was very responsive to email.
The mountain road leading up to the house is pretty treacherous in the snow, but even after a foot of snowfall and freezing temperatures, the road was passable without 4WD - the plows did a great job. The views of the snow-covered mountainside were breathtaking!
I can't say enough how pleased we were with our stay, so to balance out all the well deserved 5 star reviews, here are the few negatives:
- Even with the heat set to 70 degrees, the smaller bedrooms remained pretty cold. If you have young kids, bring extra blankets or a space heater.
- The vents in the master bedroom made a lot of noise, so for parents with ears tuned, trained to wake up at any sound of banging, you might want to choose a different room or put on some music or something.
- We had to pack up and take home four days of garbage because the dumpster where we were to take our trash was locked and we couldn't find an alternative.
Overall this was a wonderful experience, and we would be delighted to stay here again in the future.
Thank you Vladimir and Angela for your hospitality.
