What a great place to stay, we had the best time!

4 of 5
We stayed in this adorable, vintage decorated cottage last summer with our family and had the best time! It has the best of both worlds because you can feel like you are tucked in the trees overlooking the lake or you can lay out or fish off the dock or beach right on the lake. I loved the fact that it has two fire areas, one right at the water and one on the patio with an outdoor fireplace. There is plenty of room to park and a lawn area to throw a ball. We had everything we needed inside. It was a great balance of updated accommodations of today and neat reminders of yesterday with all the vintage touches of a great cabin. This is just up our alley. It's like a storybook to me. Everything we wanted to visit was within minutes of this location even the ocean. But we didn't leave much, the kids had so much fun in the in the water, swimming boating and fishing that we spent most of the time at the cottage. It was great that they had two showers an indoor and an outdoor shower the kids loved it. I would recommend bringing soft luggage because there are shelves, drawers and hanging space but not a lot of extra room for suitcases. Jen and Jamie were great. They are such nice people and helpful with everything. They even left us complimentary syrup and hand made NH soap! Thanks Jen and Jamie! We can't wait to come back. Sincerely, The Savage Family

Awesome stay

5 of 5
Had a much needed winter get away with out small dog. Mike was awesome, the place was already nice warm and cozy for our arrival. There was a snow storm when we were there and when we got up he had shoveled out our car. We cant wait to go back for our summer vaca and stay at Mikes cottages

One of our best getaways ever!

5 of 5
Arriving just in time to usher in 2015, we felt downright privileged to have stumbled on this very classy riverside walk up overlooking the Portsmouth, NH skyline. Facing south, this apartment is filled with sunlight from dawn to dusk, one of the factors that make it feel so much more spacious that the pictures suggest. We enjoyed the paradox of hanging out in a quiet neighborhood that, at the same time, allowed us easy walking access to downtown Kittery or even Portsmouth via the pedestrian friendly Memorial Bridge. We wound up relieved that the pad isn't designed for overnight guests as we were besieged all month by curious, seacoast loving day trippers! Like previous guests, we rapidly learned to make the rudimentary kitchen "work", in part by becoming regulars at "gourmet alley" up the street which offers up a groundswell of take home meals to die for. In addition, the local restaurant scene rocks. We easily day tripped to Boston and, when we return, plan to hop Amtrak's Downeaster in nearby Durham, NH for a day in Portland. Our friendly landlord met us on arrival, gave us a tour of the place, was easily available by phone for problems or questions, but otherwise respected our privacy and kept a low profile. In a nutshell, we had a ball in this spot in the dead of winter and can only imagine what it must be like "in season". We are already signed up for next year!………..The Smiths
