On Bear Camp Pond

Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was more than helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The one thing I did not appreciate was being told that we had to rent sheets and towels, which we did, only to find that sheets were already on the beds when we arrived and there were ample towels for our use. When I called the management company to ask about this discrepancy, the man who answered my call said, in some many words, that they put the rental in all of their agreements and that it would be difficult to keep track of which owners provided sheets and towels and which did not. I specifically called to make sure we had to rent them; was assured that we did; and paid $100 for sheets and towels that we never used.

Paradise

This place is definitely a New England treasure! The landscaping is beautiful with a running "brook" from the lake to the river. Bearcamp Pond is more of a lake and is probably the most beautiful place we've kayaked on. The home has been beautifully restored. There are quite a few new windows installed, refinished wide pine floors, internet access plus all "modern" conveniences such as blender, microwave, etc. There is a fireplace for cooler days/nights plus heat in 2 of the rooms. Even though the time we were there was on the cool side, the home was warm and we only used the heat on the 3 season porch (our favorite spot) a couple of times in the am. Part of the kitchen is quite old and has so much character! We never knew there was so much history in this area and loved reading about the house being built, who lived there and who lived in the surrounding homes. The only discomforts were the mosquitoes and black flies! Welcome to the woods in NH! This was noted in our contract so we were prepared and it did not deter us from venturing out. The owner was very pleasant and accommodating. We were in the area for a wedding at Castle in the Clouds and had the groomsmen stay with us during the last 2 days of our vacation. The 4 men enjoyed their accommodations very much. We would definitely recommend this property.
