Quiet stay for a working group

4 of 5
The house was very clean upon our arrival. Celeste took the time to show me how most of the old appliances and electrical worked within the property. It was a lot of fun to stay in such a well maintained vintage lake house, with working relics from years gone by, including an awesome stove (complete with flour in the cabinet from 1991.) The view on the lake was lovely, and kept the sunroom in the winter nice and toasty. There were 6 adults that stayed in the house during a busy working weekend, and we were very comfortable there on our downtime, using the space to primarily cook and rest. We were up very early and out the door Saturday for work ( at about 5:30am) and were later spoken to by one of the neighbors for keeping them awake...from our "talking." So just just a heads up, this is an old house with old neighbors. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and we would definitely consider booking again with Celeste in the future. :)

Cute lakeside cottage

5 of 5
We highly recommend this lake cottage. The lake is right outside the door! You can hear the water lapping at the shore during the night. Very quiet and clean area, even though the cottages are in close proximity. The owner lives next doors and was very considerate and laid back. He even took us for a lovely boat tour on the lake one evening. We were able to bring our two dogs, so that was really great! Cottage was very clean and updated, the beds were comfortable, with overhead ceiling fans for cooling. Lots to do in the area if you want it, but we were content with swimming and sitting on our dock. Looking for the quintessential lake cottage with knotty pine porch overlooking the water? This is for you!

The Real Deal - A True Vacation Experience

5 of 5
My husband and I discovered Cobbetts Pond while attending a wedding at Castleton three years ago. Intrigued by how close to home it was (we live just north of Boston), we went online and found these gorgeous rentals. Our first two years we stayed in the green house (property 140163) with its stunning views and this past summer we moved over to the more spacious morning side cottage (property 140637). Recent renovations include hard wood flooring throughout as well as new decking on the upper and lower levels. It is perfect for families and friends with plenty of room for everyone. The pond is so relaxing and the fishing is great! We highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a stress free vacation home with plenty of area attractions (including countless golf courses). We will definitely be back in 2011.
