We were the first renters in this newly renovated house. The owners have really equipped the place for families--lots of comfy beds for kids, crayons and puzzles and games. My family had a great stay here and the kids said it was their favorite rental place yet (we've been staying in New Hampshire on vacation for 15 years).
There are many great things about the house--a quirky place with an industrial-vintage feel--but for the teenage boys building bonfires in the yard was a huge highlight. We toasted millions of marshmallows and probably left scraps for hundreds of raccoons! Loads of fun. Tree views from all the windows. Open concept living area. Wood stove for cold nights. TV, DVD-player and Bluetooth stereo for hooking up some tunes.
Big kitchen, easy to prepare food (saves us a ton of $ on vacation). Great new grill. The bathrooms are a little rustic but plenty of nice hot water to get clean after a day of activities.
The owners were super-responsive to questions and issues we had and handled everything quickly. We felt welcome and comfortable the whole time. We would definitely return here.
During our three-week stay we did all of the following (and probably more that I can't remember!): --scenic drive over the Kancamangus Highway --hiking in Rumney, Crawford Notch, Franconia Notch, Pinkham Notch --a day at Story Land with the kids --river tubing on the Baker river in Rumney --learned to throw pottery at the Community Clay Center in Plymouth --golfing on local courses --lectures on local fishing at Squam Lake Association --wine tasting at Newfound Lake Vineyard --visit to the Mount Washington Hotel for drinks on the veranda --ice cream at several local creameries!
