My family spent the Christmas holiday at the Osgood Mountain Haus. We have rented in the Eastern Townships of Quebec and all over Vermont & New Hampshire. This house felt the coziest, almost as if we weren’t in a rental. To have it decorated for the holidays complete with a Christmas tree was such a treat! The bathrooms were stocked with anything you might forget and the kitchen had every utensil, gadget or pot/pan you might need. I had pies to bake and was thrilled there was a pastry blender tool and a kitchen aid mixer. The rental exceeded our expectations. Our family group of ten included 3 generations with ages from 14-70. We booked through Neill and he was very responsive and was accommodating when we added days to the end and then added to the beginning of our week to total 11 nights. Dale came by to check on us and was a pleasure to deal with. Amanda helped when we were moving out and we accidently locked the door to one of the bedrooms. She had us unlocked and on our way in no time. Sometimes I’ve dreaded having to call the owner/manager with a question, but all of our questions were answered promptly and we were treated respectfully. The listing was accurate and the rooms were exactly as pictured. The fireplace was beautiful and easy to operate. Hiking trails were located on the property as well as accessed from the end of Mt. Surprise Road. The property was clean upon arrival and well-maintained. Firewood was stacked in the indoor box and outside on a rack. There are laundry baskets in each bedroom to use as hampers if you liked. I would recommend this property to family and friends who value charm and history over a more modern rental. The location of less than 2 miles to the ski area and Conway Village was perfect. The nearby corner store had wine and beer and sold difficult to find “all dressed” chips. We ate at Stonehurst Manor, Delaney’s Hole in the Wall, Rafferty’s, the Muddy Duck, and Moat Mountain Brewery. All the restaurants were excellent. We took the Mt. Washington Snowcoach ride, skied at Cranmore, hiked up Mt. Kearsage, and toured the Tuckerman Brewery. The hot tub was so clean and fit 4 of us easily. From the hot tub you could see the Moat Mountain Range or look in the opposite direction to see the lights at Mt. Cranmore. We visited Zeb’s Country Store many times over the week. You won’t regret your decision to stay at Osgood Haus!
