We visited Schloss Linderhof with four adults, two three year olds, and a 2 month old. The chalet was fantastic in every way, and the owner, John, gave us great tips on activities in the area. The chalet is a 2-3 minute drive from Storyland. It is nestled in the woods, however, and far enough from Storyland to feel very remote and lovely. You can sit out on the (very large) balcony, sip your coffee, and listen to the faint music of Storyland starting up for the day. It really gets the three year olds going! The neighborhood is very cute. All of the houses are German style. It is very woody and there is a lot of privacy. There is a nice gas grill on the patio, which we used, and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils/pots/pans, etc. There is a grocery store within a few minutes drive. On John's recommendation, we also visited Diana's baths. The waterfalls were amazing! There is a lot to do in the area whether you have children or not. I highly recommend Schloss Linderhof--we hope to return in the winter for some skiing.
