Perfect for family getaway

5 of 5
I recently stayed at this lake house house rental and loved it. The owner was very accomodating and the house was exactly what I hoped for. The home was well kept and offered space for our group of seven adults and three children, with room to spare. The property is gorgeous and the seemingly endless number of windows provide some beautiful views of the water and surrounding trees from every room. Everyone raved about the place and I would recommend staying there to anyone. We would certainlly come back.

Great cottage with just few minor setbacks

4 of 5
This place is just so nice if you love peace and quiet. To get to the place you have to drive down a pretty tough dirt road which has big rocks to avoid. But once your there it is so quiet because they don't allow motorboats on the pond. Who likes to wake up to boats speeding by? Not me so this was perfect. The one downfall of this place is there is no shower inside. There is an outdoor shower. The shower has bugs and spiders living in the enclosure and they also pump up the water from the pond. There was on thing that bothered me about the place. There is no indoor shower, only outdoor pumping pondwater. It's enclosed but open space on top and a good amount of spiders and bugs. My husband didn't mind that part but I was very uncomfortable. It is very nice and well maintained. They even supply towels, washcloths, sheets and a whole lot of blankets is you need them. We only used the double bed. The mattress and pillows are just so comfortable. I had invited a friend to come up with her 3 kids for the day. Then I texted her after we got there"

Great Vacation!!!

5 of 5
Our group of family and friends had a wonderful time at the Manse. The house has tremendous character and the porch was just great. The views of Mt. Monadnock and Silver Lake from the porch are amazing as this was where most of us spent our time when we weren't at the lake. Even had a family of wild turkeys make their daily rounds of the property. The beds were comfortable and the house clean. Owners were accessible and helpful. The walk down to the lake was easy and the lake was crystal clear. Had a great time swimming, kayaking, tubing, wake-boarding, and fishing. Actually had to compete for the fish with an osprey. (Will not say who won.) Kayaking among the resident loons was an extra treat as they amazed us on how long they could stay underwater. An all around memorable vacation we'll be talking about for a long time. Thank you!
