Perfect family getaway

5 of 5
Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids toddler age) loved staying here while we were in the area for a wedding. The house itself was incredibly well appointed, clean, exactly as it was described in the write up. We've never experienced any outright lies on sites like Homeaway, but sometimes there are misleading half-truths. Not with this house - it's the real deal. The basement area was perfect for letting the kids run wild with these scooter-type toys they had. (they were pretty fun for adults too....) The kitchen was well-appointed and great for us since we wanted to cook a lot of our meals. The house is at the end of a very quiet street, and we loved walking over to the ski slopes and collecting fall leaves. It wasn't snowing yet when we were there but it looked like they had all sorts of fun things to do during the winter season. Before and after the trip, the owner was very easy to contact with questions, and they have someone local who stopped by the property after we got settled in, just to make sure everything was working the way it was supposed to. Don't miss the Intervale pancake house at the end of the street!

Paradise

5 of 5
If you're looking for a peaceful vacation spot to decompress; this is it. The home is somewhat remotely tucked away in the woods on the shores of Walker Pond but still offers all the comforts of home. It is spotlessly clean and well maintained; the details and photos in the rental description are spot on! There are so many amenities included we weren't bored for a minute. The hosts met us at the lake house to show us around and answer any questions we had. They are a wonderful couple and pleasure to meet. They're very knowledgeable about the area and have prepared a notebook with things of interest in the area and are only a phone call away to answer if any questions arise. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could imagine needing including basic supplies and spices. There were many choices of pots, pans, skillets, stock pots & kitchen tools as well as kitchen electrics like a Crock Pot, blender, food processor, toaster, Keurig coffee maker & mixer. Meals were so pleasant with the view overlooking the lake. The king size bed with a pillow top mattress was very comfortable; we slept quite well. The fishing was great both from the dock & boat while on the lake. We caught and released small mouth bass, pickerel, perch & pan fish. It was great fun! The loons could be seen with the young one swimming on the lake. We enjoyed the side trips to small towns nearby and the state capital of Concord; they're all within a short drive. The climb to the top of Mt. Kearsarge was breath taking. The view from the top is incredible. The day trip to the coast and visit in Portsmouth were both scenic and interesting. We were saddened as the week drew to a close but hope to return again and would recommend this home to our friends. The memories we've made and friends we've met will not be forgotten.

great time

5 of 5
Thank you so much for letting us stay at your house. You were the most gracious hosts, hope we haven't disappointed you as renters. We had a great time - the lake was quite warm, so even though the weather wasn't at its most summery, the kids managed to swim almost every day. Vlad did a lot of fishing, and we even cooked UHA. Thanks again for your hospitality,
