Great vacation spot

5 of 5
As for our vacation experience in this rental, we all came away with very positive things to say. However, we would like to provide some commentary regarding insurance coverage. During our stay the golf cart charger burned out; its significant replacement cost, deducted from our security deposit, might have been avoided with such an insurance.

Fabulous family reunion location!

5 of 5
The house was just as lovely as it looked online. We especially liked the living room with glass sliding doors on 3 sides, and the secluded location. Everything was clean, with plenty of linens and an extremely well-equipped kitchen, ready for any kind of cooking. The owner was easily available by phone to answer questions. We had 3 generations for a family reunion. Younger folks stayed in their own area on the lower level, with older ones on the main floor. It's toddler-friendly-- there were gates to close off the deck while we grilled and hung out. The rooms were free of clutter for no worries on parents part. The grass lawn is level for games and play. Some of our favorite activities were kayaking to the conservation area on Stonedam Island, and gathering at the fire pit for some-mores. The beach was lovely and private, partly shady, so no worries about sunburned toddlers. We recommend this house highly for any groups!

Best week vacation we have ever had!

5 of 5
We are a family of three with 9 year-old child who were lucky enough to rent this lovely, romantic, nature-full hide-away on an island on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee. This beautiful lakeside, quaint 1930s cottage has it all: two docks for canoes and boats in crystal clear water, view of the White Mountains, beautiful flowers and plants, fireplace, antiques and wonderful decor in cozy cottage which has all the facilities for cooking, living, sleeping, playing, and wonderful nature trails on the island. Neighbors are friendly and helpful. Swimming, boating, fishing are all out of this world! Owner is the author of the definitive book on fishing glacial lakes and is willing to share his tips. If you have your own boat or access to one, this is the best vacation ever! Loons are calling us back as soon as we can return.
