We stayed in this house for a week and had an awesome time. Now, the house is pretty big. I would say you could easily fit 10+ people in here, but we were just a small group of 5. That is… 4 adults, a toddler and a dog. I think one of the key things about this place is that the “basement” isn’t so much a traditional basement, but more like another totally functional/living space with it’s own living room, bedroom and bathroom/ TV. So if you’re a big group, you have the option of privacy with the space being nicely divided up like this. For me...as someone with a toddler, it meant I had a little sneak away spot where I could get away with a book and read in peace and quiet (Ok, I mostly napped, don’t judge me.)
If you have older children, the game room/toy room is also in the basement, so you’ll have to do a little exploring to find your own perfect “sneak-away” spot. May I recommend the outlets, which are only like 15 minutes away? I found my Zen there.
The main part of the house also has a great layout with an open concept kitchen/living room. The porch wraps around most of the main floor so it creates a nice flow where people can move around inside and out and still be part of the larger group.
The house is nicely decorated and has a home-y feel. Kitchen was very well stocked so we ended up cooking or grilling for most meals. The house also has central AC, which kept us comfortable during the heat wave that hit while we were up there!
Jon, the owner was really awesome, very responsive, and even left us a bottle of wine, which we though was a nice touch (went well with my moms-only “reading session”). We absolutely love this place and plan on staying here the next time we visit the area!
