Fantastic Treetop Views

5 of 5
Wow! My husband and I really loved our six day Fall stay here in the mountains just outside of Bristol NH. The apartment has beautiful cherry floors with high quality furniture, a super comfortable bed and a nice kitchen nook. There are lots of plush towels and everything was very clean. The views are fantastic from three sides of the great room, one overlooking the falls and the other two overlooking the mountain ranges. You feel like you are in the tree tops! We would stay here again just for the views, with the beautiful interior being an added benefit! Upon our request, Vinny gave us several suggestions on places to visit. We enjoy hiking so our first visit was to Wellington State Park along Newfound Lake. There is a beautiful flat 1.5 mile hike from the boat launch to the beach along the shore. Just outside the park is are steeper trails up to a mountain pond with evidence of much beaver activity. Sculptured Rocks Geologic Site is a beautiful roadside stop, with a nice trail available for further hiking. Cardigan Mountain State Park hiking is not for the faint of heart. What an amazing view after climbing up the granite lined trail! We also took two day trips, one to the coast and up into Maine, and the other was north into the White Mountains. Don't miss the Kancamagus Highway with many scenic stops and hiking options. Don't hesitate to stay here, just make sure to give yourself plenty of time to explore. You will love it! (Just FYI- the shower is in the bedroom, with a separate half bath, which may be a consideration for more than 2 people.)

Enjoyed Silver Lake - Wonderful fall weekend!

5 of 5
Just got back from a wonderful fall weekend at Silver Lake. The cottage had all the amenities we needed to make for a enjoyable, comfortable stay. On the chilly mornings the heat came up quick and was appreciated! The cottage is right on the lake and it was great watching the loons and herons and occasional fisherman. Its very quiet and private there but so close to shops and restaurants. We saw the neighbors around but everyone was very respectful of each other. For a couple meals we enjoyed dining at a place called shooters as well as the local Country club. Would not recommend the lobster house as it has new owner and lobster is no longer on the menu! Back to the cottage, once we moved all our things in it felt just like home. The only suggestion would be something I kind of missed. I had the second bedroom and would have liked a small chest of drawers. Not big just a small one (could be put in the corner). Just something to keep my personals in (socks, undies, tee-shirts etc). There are hooks with hangers on the wall for items of that sort so its not like there is no place to put your clothes but I think it would be good to have a place for smaller items. Other than that I have no suggestions for improvements. Oliver has taken care of everything! I would not hesitate to recommend the Silver Lake property and would feel very lucky if I would be able to get up to NH for another Silver Lake weekend!

Fantastic Vacation House

4 of 5
We stayed @ house the end of August. Loved the fact that Chris met us there & gave us tour of the house. Also had a welcome basket made with s'more makings for the children. The house was just as described, the dock was fantastic for the kids to fish & swim off of . The sandbar was just a kayak ride away. Nothings spells NH better than a fire roaring in the evening to relax & unwind by. We would return again next summer. I would recommend this house for families with children of any ages . We had 12 people @ different times throughout the week & their was plenty of room never felt crowded. Thank you Chris for a great weeks vacation @ your lovely home.
