Great Get-a-Way Weekend in Historic Home

5 of 5
We came to the farm to escape the city and ring in the New Year with friends. This was a perfect retreat for a relaxing weekend of board games by the fire, cooking and sharing stories, and winter strolls on the trails through the estate. The historic home has lots of charm, is very clean, and spacious. There are five bedrooms with double or queen beds, four of them have private bathrooms/showers. There's also a pull out couch in the living room if needed. A large dining room and well equipped kitchen made it easy to share meals. The house was well heated, the owners even started the wood stove for us before we arrived - such a nice touch! Highly recommend this farm house for a winter retreat with family or friends.

Sunny Slope

5 of 5
We loved staying at Sunny Slope Farm! It has everything we could possibly need. We had 7 adults and 1 child (3 years old) and we had so much space. We enjoyed sitting by the fireplace at night in the library playing boardgames, making breakfast and all of us eating around the large living room table, relaxing in the hot tub, reading on the screened in porch, playing croquet on the huge lawns, etc, etc... A couple things to note: 1. There are only 2 bathrooms (and only one with a tub) but we didn't have any trouble with that (but may have if we had more people). 2. If you have very young children you should be careful because there are 2 sets of steep stairs and lots of stuff they could get into. But the owners do have a child gate there to use and you can limit access to the second stairs. If worked out just fine for us with our little one. The house is beautiful (even better than the pictures). We loved it!! And we will definitely return!
