terrific home with character

5 of 5
We rented this home for an extended family ski getaway - two parents, two kids ages 5 & 3, a grandmother, two uncles, and a great-aunt. It rained for our ski trip, but the house was such a great place to hang out that it almost didn't matter. Positives: nearly everything! Unique home, plenty of sleeping space, two lofts (my son loved the one above our bedroom), very well stocked with books & games suitable for many ages, beautiful scenery. Many thoughtful and unique touches throughout the home. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all meals in the home, and a variety of standard condiments / spices were available for use as well. Downsides (we had no true 'negatives' per say, but things to consider): The home is 10-15 minutes from central New London, so it adds a bit to the morning drive to nearby skiing. Propane heating meant that we initially arrived to a cold house but it heated up quickly - this was not a problem for us but may be for some. Great home, gracious hosts. Thanks, Petra, for the memories!

Great Home... Great Area

5 of 5
We had a great time in Newbury this summer - beautiful views, perfect home, and great area. This spacious modern home is set up very well and was very comfortable for our entire family. The layout was perfect to give all our family members their own space. Being in the heart of Sunapee, we were able to take advantage of all the local activities (and lakes). In the evenings, it was great sitting out on the deck, enjoying the hot tub, and taking in the serene environment. House is perfectly situated on a great lot, and this hill top neighborhood is perfect for walks, running, and biking. Mount Sunapee is right around the corner, and is ideal for climbing in the summer and skiing in the winter. We were there when the leaves started turning, and the colors and views were spectacular, especially with a morning cup of coffee. We would recommend for our next stay, or for any family looking for a great place all four-seasons long.

Great Place!

5 of 5
After staying here for 2 weeks, we'd recommend this home to anyone. One of the reasons we chose it was because we had my elderly in-laws coming up to visit and it worked perfectly for them. They had a very nice queen-size bed room with a bathroom right across the hall. My mother-in-law, who keeps her home so clean you can eat off the floor, kept walking around saying "very nice, very very nice". Robert went out of his way to provide great customer service. He had just finished cutting the lawn when we arrived, so he showed us around, brought us to the boat launch and the beach, answered questions about where the closest grocerty store was and then was gone. When it was time to leave, he was very flexible, and let us stay a bit longer than agreed upon, which was nice as the weather was still great. The absolute best part of our experience in this house, though, was the two chairs pictured by the lake. Because of the fact that the chairs are so open to the surroundings, the sunsets here were spectacular. Our favorite time of the day was between 5:00 and 7:00, when the sun would go down. That is what we'll always remember about the house. One day, while sitting here, a fawn walked right in back of us, crying for its mom. Oh, and the ducks were extremely friendly. We hope to be back for more visits in the years to come.
