Loved The Lake House!

5 of 5
My sister's family (6) and mine (3) stayed here for a week. We have a 1 year old girl, so she slept in a pack n play we brought. Everyone else had appropriate bedding. My family stayed in the master. That room is HUGE!!!! And the bed is very relaxing. The kids stayed in the bunk bed room and said they were comfortable in their beds. My sister and her husband stayed downstairs in the bed with the queen. She said it wasn't the most comfortable mattress, but it wasn't bad either. So let's go with an average bed. That is probably the worst thing I can say about this place. Getting away from NY for a week, this place was spacious and relaxing. We loved playing pool downstairs and took advantage of the board games (located in the chest in the master). We had one rainy day that we were "stuck" in the house. We did not feel crammed one bit. There is no need to bring anything to cook with (pots/pans/plates/utensils/etc). Mike has the place well-stocked. I went nuts looking for a cutting board. After 24 hours I was close to going to the store to buy the house. Then, in the bottom cabinet by the fridge, hiding on the front wall by the door hinge...EUREKA! There were two. I was thrilled everyone could stop looking at me like I was crazy. The bathrooms are spacious and the showers have great water pressure. The outside of the house has a very large deck with a grill (Weber/propane). We were a bit surprised to learn that there was no fire pit in the yard. We would've loved to have a little campfire while we roasted some marshmallows or something like that. Not a huge deal, but we would've enjoyed that. The beach is about a five minute walk away. We did not assume that this house was located right on the lake, so we were not disappointed when we arrived. We actually enjoyed the quiet walks down. We got to talk to some of the neighbors as well and they were quite friendly. The beach itself was very quiet and relaxing. The water was beautiful, temperature and clarity. We met a few more people down there and they too were very kind. We spent many days of our vacation just lounging around on the beach. Mike even provides you with your own rowboat and kayak. So we definitely put those to use! Mike was easy to work with. He was very kind and informative. Not just of the house and lake, but also informative of the surrounding areas. We will definitely recommend the Lake House to anyone reading this. It was quite depressing leaving after our week's stay. THANKS MIKE!

My family and I stayed at this quaint and private cottage and cannot say enough wonderful things about it! The lake is amazingly clean and beautiful! We enjoyed swimming, fishing, kayaking and paddle boating while taking in the splendid views of the mountains and watching the loons swim nearby. We felt safe in the area while walking our dog and bike riding. The owners are equally wonderful and we felt a genuine welcome to their home. We cannot wait to return in the near future and are grateful for the opportunity to have spent time at this little hidden gem of a cottage.

Yearly get-away to peace and quiet

We found Crystal Acres on the Internet after our usual vacation place had been sold. We were really lucky to find such a nice place! This will be our 6th year at Crystal Acres and we enjoy our time there. The Villa, at Crystal Acres, on Crystal Lake, in Gilmanton, New Hampshire..A comfortable home, away from home....a cottage, nestled in, under the trees, with comfortable beds, a fireplace for those chilly nights..OR just for atmosphere, a washer/dryer which could be VERY helpful for a family with children, and a host family that's SO friendly, and accommodating. There's plenty of places to soak up the sun....either on the beautiful lawns, or on one of several docks, down at the water's edge. The water, cold and invigorating, is just a short walk, from the cottage, itself and there's a canoe and a paddle boat, for guests' enjoyment, at no extra charge. Close to the Lake Winnepesaukee area, with it's famous restaurants and quaint gift and antique shops, this home, away from home, is a MUST, for any family looking for a way to relax and enjoy a very unique and memorable vacation that takes them away from the hustle, bustle of city life.
