            Wonderful Place to Visit!

            5 of 5
We spent a week on Calef Island at the end of July and cannot recommend it enough! This is a wonderful place to relax. MaryAnn and Ken have thought of EVERYTHING that you might want or need to make your stay comfortable and fun. This is the first vacation-home kitchen that really does have everything that you need to prepare whatever meals you might want. We really appreciated that our two dogs could come on vacation with us. They spent many happy hours chasing their toys into the water at the sandy beach. Swains Lake is perfect for swimming or just bobbing, warm enough to welcome you in at any time of day. We went kayaking every day, took walks on the local trails and quiet roads, rested in the hammocks, enjoyed dinners on the deck looking out over the lake, listened to the calls of the loons (and enjoyed an entire day when they were fishing right in front of the house), fished, caught and released numerous small bass and gazed out at the serenity of the lake. The pictures of the house and grounds are good but don't do the place justice. The house is situated in such a way that you really feel like you barely have neighbors. The lake was busy with people enjoying water sports on the weekend but during the week it was much quieter. We discovered many beautiful nooks and crannies during our paddles around the lake. The rock outcroppings and lush vegetation are beautiful! We will be back next year! Thank you, Ken and Mary Ann, for sharing your wonderful home with us!

            Perfect for a ladies' weekend!

            5 of 5
I cannot say how happy our large group was with this property. It was immaculately clean and had every amenity we could have asked for for a relaxing weekend away. We enjoyed cooking out, playing lawn games, lounging on the beach and patio, and floating in the nice, shallow lake during the day, and loved relaxing around the fire pit at night. We felt so welcome and comfortable. I would absolutely stay there again. Thank you so much, Judy and family!

            Amazing vacation home!

            5 of 5
We rented this home for our daughter's graduation from UNH. We felt so welcomed as soon as we walked in the door. A comfortable space, workable kitchen, amazing deck(with so much seating and a grill etc) and the lake!!! We kayaked, watched the loons,Herons and balls eagle daily. My parents relaxed with their kindles on the deck and it was easy for my dad and our 13 yr old lab to get out to the lake with the ramp,so no worries about stairs! Our only regret was that we didn't find this gem before our daughter's graduation! Thank you again Deb and Sandy! We hope to return someday!!!
