This apartment was a perfect place to stay. Located in the Rijksmuseum area, very close to the Vondelpark, it was easy to access just about everything we wanted to by foot. Close to museums and some great restaurants. The street itself is a bit more "upscale" than many others we had looked at, e.g. in the Jordaan area, with lots of high-end stores like Tiffany's, but is was so convenient, we could overlook the glitz. The apartment itself was wonderful. Plenty of space, lots of light, and very comfortably furnished in a nicely remodeled older building. The bedroom is in the back, off the street, and facing a nice wooded area in back with a back porch which is a great place for having a glass of wine or a quiet breakfast. It was very quiet at night. There is a gourmet kitchen and a small washer-dryer as well. The owners live upstairs and were very friendly and helpful. Karl had many great suggestions for dining, etc. and we enjoyed talking. It really felt like staying in a friend's place. As with many Amsterdam homes, the stairs (it is one flight up) are really narrow, so would not be good for someone with mobility issues. The only minor negative is that there was construction going on a few buildings down the street. This only created some noise on only one of the days we were there, and only briefly during the day time. If that were an issue for you, you might check with the owners, as the heavy work will likely be done by the time you read this. Overall, it was one of the best rentals we have ever done and we would go back in a minute.
