Beautiful house, beautiful town.

5 of 5
We stayed at the townhouse for a week in August: 2 adults and 3 kids (aged 11, 9 and 6). The owner, Ferdinand, told us that he used to live in the house, and you could tell - it felt like a home, not like holiday accommodation. There was plenty of space, and each room was well-equipped. The free wifi was much appreciated; as were the guide books and tourist leaflets left in the house. The location is superb; walking distance from everything in Delft including the station. By chance our stay coincided with 'OWee', the Freshers' Week for new students at the university, which meant plenty of free entertainment right outside the window. The centre of Delft is beautiful, full of historic buildings, buzzing cafes, independent shops and of course canals. We came without our car and used the excellent Dutch public transport to get around: it's worth researching the 'OV chipkaart' in advance if you plan to use this as you pay a surcharge to use paper tickets. We spent a day in Amsterdam, a day in Rotterdam, a day at the beach (Scheveningen) and in Den Haag. We could have done more day trips but preferred to enjoy Delft at a leisurely pace: there's loads to see. The Science Centre in Delft was a particular hit with our kids - we were there for 3 hours and wished we had longer. Ferdinand was extremely helpful and quick to respond to emails. He is very proud of his lovely house - with good reason. Highly recommended.

Vacation in Amsterdam

5 of 5
Amsterdam is really a marvellous destination for vacation. The town is beautifull and sympathetic and it's great to see all these bycicles and so less cars in a big town. In more we rent a very beautifull house with all comfort. It was very practise, the tramway, direct to Amsterdam center, was 100 meters distance from the appartment. There was a supermarket near the house too. Amsterdam, in these conditions, was really marvellous and I hope to return one day ! one more time, thank you to Albert and Malika (who speak very well french !)

Wow !! What a special place!

5 of 5
Run!..don't walk..to spend a vacation in this beautiful home in the Dutch countryside. A wonderfully clean and peaceful retreat surrounded by farmsteads and some of Holland's finest recreational cycling paths. Enjoy the atmosphere of the nearby villages of Elspeet and Uddel ...,with their laid back pace of life. You can easily cycle there from the house on the bicycles provided! The "great for shopping towns" of Apeldoorn and Amersfoort are an easy 30 minute drive..and don't forget to drive out to Spakenburg, Volendam and Harderswijk, all typical small towns where you will see the locals wearing traditional costumes. We had flown in from Los Angeles to visit with our Dutch and Swiss families..and Vinca Minor proved a wonderful base to entertain and welcome. We have travelled the world both working and vacationing..and this ranks in the top 5 of our places to stay. The house is spacious yet somehow cozy, full of contemporary touches mixed with old world charm. It really is special! And the gardens surrounding the house are spectacular. This year, as in most of Europe, the seasons are a little delayed..so we got to enjoy the late flowering purple rhododendrons..and to pick the first strawberries.
