This was the perfect rental for the first-time visit of a family of four to Amsterdam. The 3rd floor apartment is a 5 minute walk from the train station (which is itself a 20 minute ride from the airport). The walk-up is very steep - essentially vertical the last five feet - but our host, Marcus was waiting for us upon arrival and helped to expedite getting our bags up the stairs. Once upstairs, one has the feeling of being in a real dutch apartment. The appointments and amenities were exactly as described in listing. The space is charming and clean. Beds were comfortable and wide. The loft easily accommodated both of our teenage boys, although one opted to sleep on the sofa bed (for reasons of adolescence) - he noted it was comfortable. All of the appliances worked and, to the delight of my kids, the internet connection was truly high-speed. A nice touch: wine was already chilled in the fridge (replace what your take). Amsterdam is amazingly pedestrian-friendly and this apartment was within a reasonable walking distance of all the principal attractions and many great restaurants (Lestage is downstairs and is a real treat if you can get a table - book early). From the Jordann to the Vondelpark, everything in Old Amsteram is easily accessible by foot or by trolley. Marcus was a fantastic host and it was very easy to communicate with him to arrange payment and navigate our arrival, as well as manage the return of the damage deposit. All said a great place.
