The location could not be better for staying in Delft. The main square is but steps away and you look directly down upon one of the many canals. The kitchen was very functional for a cook (which I am) and the dining room space became our favorite place to hang out. The directions and instructions provided by Ferdinand were very detailed as well as helpful. The master bedroom was nice with a very comfortable bed and it was good to have a WC on that level. So why only 4 stars and not 5? Two reasons. First, you must pay a cleaning fee and I have no problem with that, but frankly we did not feel that the cleaning service did a very good job before we arrived. Nothing terrible, but things were a bit dusty. More importantly, for us -- two active couples in their 60's and 70's -- the sleeping arrangements were not ideal. The first level bedroom is more of an alcove and is really only suitable for children as there is no WC on that level. That left the two top floor bedrooms and whilst the master bedroom was fine, the second bedroom was barely adequate. In particular there were two different single beds crammed in the room which meant that one couple had to sleep separately. And the mattress on one of the beds had so be supplanted with the one from the lower bedroom in order to make it comfortable. In the end, it all worked out and we very much enjoyed our stay. However, I might suggest that the host re-fit that 2nd bedroom with one double bed in order to be more accommodating for 2 couples.
