Brilliant apartment. Great stay

5 of 5
We, a family of four (children 8 and 12), really enjoyed staying here for a few days. Great location in walking distance from the central station, with restaurants, shops and food stores close by. Very tasteful, and well furbished apartment, with all necessary amenities. Ideal for a stay in wonderful Amsterdam. However, steep steps to top floor makes it less recommendable for families with a push chair. For all others, top choice :-) The owners are very friendly and helpful. Everything as described in the ad. All in all, highly recommended.

very central location

5 of 5
The place is just as it was shown in the pictures. There is a bit of wasted space between the bathroom and the living room (where the entrance is) but the space was comfortable and location was very good. The BR was nice and it also has a shower and there is a sink in the room but only 1 toilet in the whole unit by the entrance. Make sure to use the mosquito net in the bedroom b/c we all got bitten up (esp the kids in the living room). Unfortunately the wifi was down for most of our stay and the owner happened to be away. He tried to help us by phone but we were never able to get it back up. Normally he's in the building so he could have helped if he was around. We were w/in walking distance of everything and when we were there, it was Gay Pride parade and it was literally outside our door (no view from the apt itself since it faces the back) and it was very entertaining. The place was very clean also. it's bit of a climb up to the apt.

Perfect way to enjoy Amsterdam

5 of 5
We enjoyed our stay on the house boat immensely, It was the perfect place to stay whilst in Amsterdam. The house boat is located close to the center of town (10 min walk), AH Supermarket (2 min walk), Cafes and Restaurants (30 second walk across the road). Even though it was close to all these places it was peaceful, quiet and the perfect place to come home to and relax after a big day of exploring. We loved waking up every morning with our coffee to the beautiful view of the canal, waving to the people in their boats and feeding the ducks from the balcony. We were fortunate enough to meet Meredith (the owner) who was absolutely lovely. Meredith left a 'welcome' book with information about the area and transport that came in very handy (We saved 20 euro on a taxi to the airport using the suggestion from the welcome book) along with instructions on how to operate everything contained with in the houseboat. The houseboat was spotless upon arrival and maintained by Sander who was a pleasure to deal with. Sander made sure everything ran smoothly and there were no issues. We would love to stay on the boat again if we ever return to Amsterdam and would recommend it to anyone. We loved it so much that we almost shed a tear when the time came to leave as it had truly become our home during our stay. Dave and Teesh (Australia)
