This is our first time visiting Amsterdam, and we were not disappointed. Though we had a very late-night arrival, Sander met us at the house and welcomed us warmly. He helped us tremendously when describing where to park our car for the least amount of money per day, and also showed us on the map points of interest that might appeal to our family. The house itself is fresh and clean. We felt right at home, right away. It is a very open floor plan, with large rooms. The bathroom is huge, as is the kitchen. We ate as many meals on the lovely balcony as possible, and enjoyed our coffee out there every morning. One thing that I truly appreciated was how very QUIET this neighborhood is. When the Netherlands won their match for the World Cup game that night ( at 1 a.m.), we could hear the celebrations downtown, but only from afar. We were far enough away to still get a great night of sleep, however everything you need is within walking distance, including the free ferry to Central Station, the Eye film museum, convenience stores, playgrounds, and grocery stores. Upon leaving, our security deposit was returned to us very quickly. When we come back, we WILL stay here!
