The BEST!

5 of 5
Staying on the Anjo is the BEST way to experience Amsterdam. It is perfection. Ben, the proprietor, has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. We visited Amsterdam for 5 nights with our 16 year old son. Staying on the Anjo MADE our holiday perfect. We had our tea in the pilot house with the windows open to hear the church bells; we had afternoon drinks on the patio of the boat while we watched the world float by our canal; we snuggled into our very comfortable beds at night and slept peacefully and coolly (the boat has two air conditioners). Ideally located to walk everywhere, with a great bike rental place (Fredericks) just down the block. A great fancy market around the corner, as well as a more reasonably priced grocery store. Really, this is the way to experience Amsterdam. On a beautifully restored, perfectly situated, most comfortable canal boat.

Comfortable, quiet, and great location

5 of 5
Although the apartment was small, it was laid out in a way to provide plenty of room to cook, eat, and relax. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked making it easy to prepare and serve meals. Because the apartment was so well prepared, we really did not need to contact our hosts, but when we did they were friendly and helpful. They left us alone, but were happy to replace items in the kitchen and provide fresh linens. There was also an excellent map in the room with locations for cleaners, restaurants, and such. The location was convenient to many sights in town and to bus stops and tram lines. Although the location was very close to streets and tourist sites, it was quiet in the room. The stairs are steep but do have handrails and we got comfortable with them quickly.

Great experience!

5 of 5
This was our 3rd visit to Amsterdam and first staying on a houseboat! What fun! The houseboat has been completely renovated, and it's beautiful. And huge! The pictures don't lie! Two bedrooms (with VERY comfortable beds on the lower level) with a BIG bathroom. Upstairs, the kitchen was large and well equipped for cooking. Two great couches for relaxing at the end of the day (not to mention watching World Cup on the big screen TV). Highly recommend renting bikes to make the trek to/from city center less time consuming. The ferries were never an issue ... one was always at the dock when we arrived. The damage deposit was also a non-issue; returned via PayPal in a couple of days. Very nice place. Highly recommend.
