My wife and I have been to numerous islands and villas in the Caribbean. We decided that for our 20th anniversary we wanted to go to place that was less traveled and had a flare of uniqueness. After much research we chose Montserrat.
Once we decided on our destination, it was time time to find our home away from home. We looked at many pictures and read many reviews, and decided on Avalon. Take a look at the featured picture on the listing and that was the hook for us...and I have to tell you waking up to that view each morning during our vacation was in itself worth the price of the rental. In fact, though we had a rental car , and numerous invites from locals to venture out and do daily activities, we found it difficult to leave the Villa....the pool, the view, the breeze...it was so hard to leave our little piece of the island.
If you want a great place to hang out and have a few (or more) adult beverages I recommend The Beach Bar...its a short drive from the villa and is just a fun place kick back and enjoy...enjoyed the food too! Also check out Uncles...loved it.
The Villa had everything my wife and I needed. I must say I was a bit nervous about not having AC, but the trade winds and ceiling fans were enough to make sleeping very comfortable....I really don't know what to add other than we were completely satisfied with the accommodations and felt very much at home. Much of that was not only due to the villa itself, but Dyann's attentiveness to our needs and her overall hospitality.
This was our first trip to Montserrat and Villa Avalon, but it will not be our last. We plan on returning and will bring friends and family, so they too can experience the simple pleasures of this special destination.
