Views of both Volcano and Ocean

5 of 5
This is a well kept, beautifully furnished villa. The long, well-lit driveway, the outdoor living room, and the self-contained bedrooms (each has its own bathroom) confirm Avalon's discreet elegance. I had the fortune of being able to stay her for a couple of months. It's a lovely home to come back to at the end of the day to watch the sunset, and a wonderful home to awake to for the sunrise over the volcano. When you realize how meticulous and thorough the owner is, you'll realize that even these sunset and sunrise advantages are no coincidence. Very highly recommended.

Wonderful time in paradise.

The accommodations were excellent. The views were amazing. The pool was very nice. The beach was a short drive from the house and was fantastic. Had it pretty much to ourselves every time we went. The locals were very friendly and easy to talk to. We had never been to Montserrat but we will definitely go there again. I've told everyone that has asked that it was one of the best vacations we have ever been on and that they should try to go there someday. Really only have a couple of negative things to mention and they are very trivial. The house could use some cleaning supply such as dish soap for the sink and dishwasher. Couple of oscillating or box fans would be nice also.

Nicer than nice

We rented Nice Diggs on our second visit to Montserrat, and it was all we hoped for and more. The photos show what a beautiful home this is, but cannot convey the sense of peace, fun and well-being we experienced while there. Owner Carey was so gracious and helpful in answering all our questions, and even filling us in on their family's history with Montserrat, making us feel even more at home when we got there. The villa is well equipped, we had everything we could possibly need. The veranda was where we spent most of our time while in, marveling at the view of Redonda and Nevis and watching the occasional boats pass by. The pool also got much use, day and night. Montserrat is a magical island, so different from any other Caribbean location. The people are amazing and kind, it is so easy to make friends everywhere you go. The St. Patrick's week events we attended, including street parties and the Montserrat African Music Festival in Salem were joyously fun. Snorkeling at Woodlands beach was also a highlight, the reef off the cliffs to the south of the beach are teeming with healthy coral and life, including sea turtles. The volcano is a major draw for me, but it was nice to see Miss Soufriere behaving herself for the good people of Montserrat after our exciting 2010 introduction. Montserrat is a paradise, and Nice Diggs made the perfect paradise home!
