Enjoyable stay

4 of 5
We were two couples visiting Yellowstone for the first time and found this home to be a comfortable and fairly convenient spot for accessing the west gate to the park. Overall, the home met our needs and was well appointed for relaxing in the evenings and cooking meals at home. The photos accurately represent the property, and it's quite spacious and quiet. The one issue we had was that when we turned the gas vent stove/fireplace on for the first time we smelled a strong gas odor that was alarming. Not having any experience with this type of fireplace, I left a voicemail for the owner expressing this safety concern and asking for some guidance on if this was normal/what to do, but didn't receive a response the entire stay. Seeing as it was pretty chilly, we spent a lot of time researching and trying different knobs on the fireplace so we could use it, so it would have been helpful to 1) receive a response from the owner, as well as 2) have some instructions on proper use of the fireplace, as well as how it interacted with the thermostat.

Great property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the lovely basement accommodations. Each room has very clean and functional furnishings. The kitchen is fully equipped and equally clean. The location was very scenic and provided us with a great launching point to Yellowstone National Park. The Keurig system (and the coffee and tea supplies) was a great enhancement and we enjoyed taking advantage of it each morning. To be honest, I would have given this property 5+ stars had it not been for a few shortcomings. First and foremost, one of the beds (in the bedroom on the left when looking at the kitchen) was EXTREMELY noisy. My husband and I were in the bedroom on the right and the bed was very comfortable. However, our friends in the other bedroom found their sleep to be significantly impacted by the noise generated by the bed whenever the moved - even slightly. Additionally, we all agreed that satin sheets are not ideal. My husband and I actually slept with a blanket in between us and the sheets. Our recommendation would be to simply standard cotton sheets going forward. Again, the location was ideal and the property itself is outstanding. With a few modifications you have a real gem! Thanks for the peppermint patties that you left - that was a very thoughtful (and appreciated) surprise.

Simply awesome home! First class luxury home.

The owners were extremely accommodating, and even more responsive. Any time we had a question or issue to be resolved, the owners were very accommodating. He view and privacy, spectacular. Great place for a retreat. Building materials, top notch, granite countertops, stone flooring. Copper sinks. Wow.
