Our family loved staying here; only a short drive from Bozeman but in a wonderfully peaceful countryside location. We enjoyed the drive up and down the hill each day and spotting the local wildlife, including mule deer, ospreys, badger, fox, weasels and chippies (we had the recommended suv but saw smaller cars which seemed fine on the gravel slope). The cabin is spacious and tastefully furnished with comfortable beds.
Highlights: opening the blinds for the first time to see that amazing panoramic view (!), alfresco dining on the outside deck, the beautiful montana night view of the milky way, a pre-breakfast soak in the hot tub before the rest of the family disturb the peace (!), hiking in bridger and hyalite canyons, meeting Brutus the bear at the Grizzly encounter down the road, music-on-main in Bozeman, eating out at the fab. Bozeman restaurants.
Lowlights: having to leave after only 5 days, not having time to visit Glacier NP (we toured Yellowstone before visiting Bozeman area), not spotting one of the local moose….
Thank you to the owner for sharing such a lovely property (and all the hiking/driving maps and guides) and to the girls at Mountain Homes who were easy and friendly to work with (the detailed, comprehensive area guide was really helpful).
