                                  PERFECT RETREAT

                                  5 of 5
This is a beautiful cabin on the shore of Georgetown lake. Quiet, well away from the road, clean and well furnished. Beds were super comfortable! My parents and aunt, all in their 70s, and I had a perfect few days here. Kept our boat at the private floating dock in front of the cabin, and caught lots of trout in Jericho bay.

                                  FABULOUS STAY-PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP

                                  5 of 5
The property is beautiful and pride of ownership shows throughout. The owners are very thoughtful and helpful. This is the first VBRO we've stayed at where the owners provided recreational items like fishing poles, toys for the kids, water play items, etc... The property boasts marvelous vistas of the lake, sunrise, sunset, and the array of local wildlife. The location of the property is perfect for those who wish to stay and play or check out historical Montana. Overall, we had a great time, even with the rain and freak snowstorm that put a minor damper on our extracurricular activities. Wonderful time!

EVEN BETTER THAN EXPECTED--AND I EXPECTED A LOT!

If you’re considering different options on Georgetown Lake (or most anywhere else in western Montana) you can quit looking—you’ve found the place to stay. I debated whether or not to take our east coast visitors to Georgetown, Flathead, or Seeley (or just remaining in Missoula), but I have no doubt this was the right choice. This cabin is amazing and there’s a ton to do in the area. From the deck you see why the distant highway got a “Scenic Route” designation—you look right onto the face of the rugged Anaconda-Pinter range. This is NOT the case for all cabins on the lake since many look at the pretty (but wimpy) mountains surrounding the lake in other directions. It’s unbeatable to be sitting on the dock in the bay (admit it, you’re humming the song) and having fish jump all around you in the early morning (just a short jaunt directly down the hill as advertised), all the while being watched by a bald eagle perched in a dead snag. Trust me—it happens. Back inside the cabin, the floorplan is perfect for one or two families. We had both during our stay so I can say this with some authority. The upstairs and lower (daylight) levels have similar layouts: two bedrooms across the back, a large room spanning the front (a game/TV room downstairs and the living/dining room upstairs, both with external doors), with the middle third being taken up by a full bathroom plus a kitchen (upstairs) or utility room (downstairs). This allows two groups to either interact or lead separate lives, depending on your preference. People can, as we did, stay up late or get up early without disturbing the others. If you want to leave the cabin but stay near the lake, rent an aluminum fishing boat at Moose Marina for just $25 an hour, gas included (at least in 2013). Don’t fish? Don’t worry--on a calm day (3 out of 4 of ours, with beautiful thunderstorms rolling through on the remaining one), the boat trip is a fairly leisurely 1 ½ hour trip around the lake giving a completely different viewpoint. As someone else said, there is essentially NO shopping at the lake, meaning a drive to Philipsburg or Anaconda for groceries, but I found that Moose Marina is open to 8:00 PM and, in addition to boats, it can provide some essentials (including s’mores makings for use on the cabin’s fire pit) or enough beer and wine so you no longer notice you’re hungry. I’ve loved Philipsburg (or P-burg to the locals) since the days when it was all boarded up, and it’s only gotten bette
