great time in December

5 of 5
We stayed a week in December and this place exceeded all our expectations. The unit is excellent - very clean and well maintained, very well suited for a large family or even a multi-family group. The kitchen is also well equipped. Customer service was also excellent - although we were arriving on Christmas Day, the manager met us with the keys and showed us the property. During our stay the temperature dropped to -25, so we were pleasantly surprised that the unit is so warm. We highly recommend both the property, and the time - winter in Yellowstone in wonderful. You will see more wildlife than you ever wished, because in winter bison, elk and even moose prefer plowed roads to deep snow, and pronghorns and bighorn sheep are grazing right next to the park entrance. And wolves and coyotes follow in their tracks. Getting caught in your car in the middle of bison herd is quite an experience, but in winter they are calmer and less feisty, so it is less dangerous than in summer. There are well-groomed trails for cross-country skiing, and next door to the unit there is Parks' Fly shop, where you can rent your skis and snowshoes. They are cheaper and in much better condition than what you would find in the park. We highly recommend wildlife tours from Mammoth Lodge - these are a lot cheaper than snowmobile and snowcoach tours, and the guides are very knowledgeable. We had a great time, and could not recommend the place highly enough.

Perfectly relaxing

5 of 5
Fall in this area is very beautiful. The leaves were changing and the drive up to Sunny slopes from Gardiner was beautiful. The cabin is very warm and inviting with amazing views from every window. The kitchen is well stocked and a cooks dream. I loved the shower in the master bedroom. Wonderful decks on both the front and back side of the house for enjoying the beautiful weather. The occasional visit from a deer or two made us feel secluded but yet so close to town. Yellowstone National Park is just a 20 minute drive and the northern range of the park is great for widlife spotting any time of year. The owners were wonderful to work with, very helpful and knowledgeable about the whole area including Bozeman. Definitely a place to come back to.

Perfect first trip to Yellowstone!

5 of 5
My husband and I chose Electric Peak cabin due to it's location and the photos/reviews online. We were not disappointed! The cabin was exactly as pictured and we found it to be spotless and cozy. The views from any of the windows was perfect. The cabin is in the perfect location, a quick 10 minute drive from the North entrance of YNP. This allows you to visit the park, visit the surrounding area and only have a short drive back to your home base. For us this was perfect as we were not surrounded by the crowds of tourists that stay in lodging throughout the park. We had a great time visiting Gardiner as well...HellsaRoaring Outfitters was also a great ranch to visit for some horseback riding (and the drive up to the Ranch is pretty awesome on it's own!) It was also great that Todd came to make sure all was going well and make sure we didn't need anything. Very hospitable and appreciated! We look forward to future visits to the area and will definitely hope to stay at EP cabin again!
