Heaven in the pines

5 of 5
This was the best VRBO property we have ever rented. Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the absolute cleanliness of the place, a big concern for me when I travel. It's spacious, well stocked and just remote enough to give you that wilderness feeling. Within 10 min. You are in town and GNP is a short, pretty drive. Romany is very helpful, pleasant and our deposit was refunded to us within 24 hours of departure. We hope to be back soon!

Great house, great location, great vacation!!

5 of 5
This house was just perfect for our trip to Glacier National Park. My husband and I loved the house, and loved dealing with Anna, the owner-she is wonderful to work with, and helpful with all kinds of info about the area since she lives close by. We had a terrific time in Glacier, even had LOTS of snow all week (hard to believe it was early September!!), and one morning temp of 23 degrees!! (what an awakening for us Florida folks, brrrrr!!) It was so beautiful, though, to see Glacier all covered in snow. The east side of the park had a ton of snow, so much so that Logan's Pass was closed for most of our week. Thankfully, it finally opened so we got to drive the whole "Going to the Sun" road--it will take your breath away with the most amazing scenery. Great hikes too. We loved coming home to our nice (warm) house in the evening, cooking dinner in the well stocked kitchen, and a nice hot shower (or bath) before bed. Slept great in the queen sized bed and loved the total peace and quiet of the neighborhood. We literally fell into bed so early every night after our full days at the park. We had every intention of playing games and reading at night, but that never really happened!! The house was extremely clean, bed linens smelled so nice and fresh, plenty of towels and "supplies". I wish the weather had been (much) warmer as we would have loved to sit outside in the beautiful yard, and have early morning coffee out back. Picnic table and grill would have been great to use also, but....too cold for us!!! Kids would love playing, and running, around the yard. Hammock sure looked inviting too. Well kept yard, even a clothesline! The location of the house is perfect--you are only about 20 minutes outside Glacier and the drive over is just beautiful. We would absolutely rent this house again, and hope to be able to do that again in the future. Hope to get back to Glacier and Montana one day soon!!

The Perfect Balance

5 of 5
The Pinehaven Ranch is a perfect refuge for a trip to Glacier National Park. Patty the owner is great! She's friendly and accessible but gives her guests the space to do their own thing. The cabin accommodations were clean and comfortable and had all the amenities (dishware, microwave, stove/oven, fridge, washer and dryer) along with a wood stove with ample firewood and fire-making supplies. The wood stove was awesome since we had an early blast of winter during our stay. The experience was many times better than a hotel/lodge stay. This property is within 20 minutes of Whitefish (to the west) and 20 mins to the West entrance to GNP (to the east). At Glacier, be sure to plan a few hours to drive the "going to the sun road" and make sight-seeing stops. There are plenty of great hikes/activities on the West side of Glacier, so honestly our 4 nights 3 days in the area were not enough. Other notes: - the property is completely fenced in, our dog loved it and got to hang out with Patty's dogs. - When we were busy in the Park, we dropped our dog off at Pawsitively Perfect dog daycare in nearby Evergreen. Our dog loved it and we HIGHLY recommend this service as pets are restricted in Glacier National Park - Multiple outfitters nearby for rafting, helicopter tours, etc. - There are scenic boat rides available on nearby Lake MacDonald in GNP - Also on the West side of GNP there is a horseback riding outfit in which you can ride up the hiking trails. - Dozens great GNP hikes within an hour of this property, a few within 30 mins of the property - We had breakfast a short drive away at the West Glacier Restaurant, it was very good - We had lunch and dinner in this same area at the Cafe attached to the gas station just outside the entrance to GNP. Sounds sketchy but don't be fooled, great meals, local beers, homemade pie, etc. - YOU MUST GET Coffee at Montana Coffee Traders (only 10 mins from this property). Amazing brew. They have food as well but we didn't try it.
