We stayed at the cabin for several days in August, 2013, before heading up to GNP. We will never forget the Crazy Mountains, or the hospitality of the hosts. Barbara warned us that the cabin was not meant to accommodate a family, but she did make an exception and allow our family of 4 to stay. Although it was a bit cramped, we didn't mind at all, and the whole family was appreciative of the opportunity to stay in such a lovely place.
The cabin was very clean, with a cute kitchen that provided all the necessary appliances and utensils. We ate most of our meals on the deck overlooking the mountains. The environment and absence of distractions encouraged lots of imaginary play by the children.
The air smelled clean and delicious, the sunsets were unequaled, and the mountains and nearby river/falls provided exceptional hiking, picnicking and splashing around options with minimal human traffic. We even went fishing with the hosts and the kids caught a fish, which we ate for dinner. We will never forget our time in this remarkable place.
