Review of Oneill guest house on the Gallatin River

5 of 5
From Linda Raulston: Larry and I have been lucky enough to have been guests at the Oneill Guest house for 15 years. The fact that we have made it our August getaway for all these years says it all. Carolyn and Terry always make us feel most welcome. They provide a wonderful and comfortable place for us to completely relax. It's like going home. As we arrive at the guesthouse nestled behind tall evergreens its charm greets us with colorful baskets of flowers hanging across the it's front. The house's amenities take care of all of our needs. We spend lots of time on the deck which overlooks the Gallatin River. The scenery is extraordinary with towering evergeens overhanging the river, and the bird life is unbelievable, and the soothing sound of the river is so hypnotic that it is hard to stay awake. Up and down the river people flyfish, and all we have to do is walk off the deck into our own private flyfishing haven. Nearby is the hot tub where we usually relax before bedtime and watching the sky ablaze with stars. The large grill has become a popular place for the guys to congregate as each offers suggestions on when the meat should be turned. The kitchen is fully stocked with all one needs to persue the art of cooking. The dining table where we have spent so many happy hours sharing delicious meals and lots of tall tales accomodates ten. The beds are very comfortable and well-dressed. Carolyn and Terry attend to everything one might need. They go so far as to spend nights in the guest house to check out everything one might need from a guests perspective. They can recommend what sights around the area are a must to see. You won't believe how wonderful your trip will be. The Oneills are the best hosts we've ever encountered. You will fall in love with them. They are family. Linda Raulston

Spectacular. Better than advertised

5 of 5
We've stayed at a variety of HA, VRBO, AirBnB properties. Many are over-hyped, and the pics don't quite match the property. This one, however, is truly great. View of the mountain is spectacular, walk to the village for activities/food, and a great base camp for fly fishing. First class all the way. Great hosts too!

Perfect ski vacation. WHAT A VIEW!!!!!

5 of 5
This was our first time to Bigsky and it was spectacular!!! We have skied much of Colorado and stayed in some pretty nice places, but Brett's condo was awesome. The skiing here is amazing!! There are so many trails and bowls and steeps to explore we could not come close to covering them all in the week we stayed. We woke up every morning to exactly what you see in the picture, but of course it does not do the view justice. The condo is spacious and very well equipped. Boot drier was a big plus. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook with, which we did most nights even though we found some pretty nice places to eat off the property. The hot tub and fire place are nice touches and got used every night. The shuttle is literally rite out the door and takes only about 5-10 minutes to drop you off at the base. Brett was great to work with and responded very quickly to any questions we had prior to our trip as well as when we were on site. His write up of the area and how to approach the ski day were right on the mark for us. As I mentioned, there is so much skiing here it was nice to know we would start out on some real nice trails and hit the highlights throughout the day. We would recommend the” Yurt dinner”. Had a great meal and met some great people. Thanks for a great week Brett!!!
