PEACEFUL RETREAT

5 of 5
We rented this property for two months while we waited to move into our home, and we were so glad we did! The owner is warm, welcoming, and helpful; and the property is clean, well-maintained, and nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The large backyard offers privacy and a relaxing view of the water; while we didn't do any boating or water activities, they would have been easy to do from this property. We appreciated the reliable internet connection, convenient location, and the comfortable, "home away from home" feel of this house. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone vacationing, or staying longer, in the area.

WOW!!! AMAZING HIDDEN GEM

5 of 5
We cannot say enough how perfect this house was for our family vacation. We were three couples with small children and the layout of the house was great. We had plenty of room for all that comes along with travelling with toddlers. The views surrounding the house are simply breathtaking. We got amazing photos of our families with picturesque backdrops. We enjoyed cooking in the outdoor kitchen, swimming in the lake, visiting the pool, using jacuzzi turned off for small kiddos to use as pool during the day and heating it up for adults at night, canoeing, paddle boats, fishing, etc. We did it all and loved every second. We plan to make this our yearly getaway and may even try to come twice a year. It is only an hour from New Orleans, but felt like a relaxing world away. The only downside was we only stayed Thursday-Sunday. We wish it could have been longer! Thank you Darin for a memorable family vacation. We will be in touch soon to book the next one and will recommend your place to anyone looking for a first class vacation in close proximity to home. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! SPRING BREAKERS

5 of 5
We just stayed at the house, it was just as pictured and a wonderful place to stay. It was ready when we arrived and although directions were not clear it was not that difficult to find. We had four kids with us and they had a blast. We brought the uncertain weather with us from the north and even with the rain and cooler temps at the beginning of the week the kids found plenty to do. As the week went on the temps got warmer and we enjoyed spending every moment outside on the beach. We caught blue crabs in the traps, lots of fun and even ate a few. We just used leftover meat from our first supper for bait and it worked like a charm. Mostly we liked the anticipation of seeing what we caught and then letting them go. We even caught a hermit crab in the traps. We loved seeing the seagulls and the pelicans on the pilings and the cranes and other birds in the bayou area. The kids were set on seeing an alligator so we took a walk on the unused golf course paths at the beginning of the neighborhood and saw a few peeking out from the water and one sunning in the reeds in one of the ponds. It was a safe distance away and a good way to say you had seen an alligator. Bring the binoculars from the house for a better view (which is so thoughtful that they are there in the study area as there is lots to see with them) On the beach we found more hermit crabs, jellyfish, lots of ships passing by way out to watch and some beach play toys... Plenty to keep our interest daily. We are not fishermen but the gentleman next door had caught quite a few fish while we were there. The gnats were bad at times and the bug spray did not keep them away, but they seemed to only be around for short periods of time and then go away. We kept looking for dolphins and were disappointed as we ate our last breakfast looking out onto the water, hopeful. Right as we were packing to leave they came to say goodbye! It was a great way to end the trip as we watched one come all the way in chasing fish and making quite a ruckus at times. Super great experience. If there are any cons to this immediate area it is a lack of things to do off of the beach. We went on the Biloxi Shrimping Tour and that was a great value and a fun way to get out on the water, but even little touristy shopping areas are lacking, especially with kids in mind. We know that is mostly because of the slow rebuilding after the hurricane and were happy to support the business we did go into, but found few to patronize.
