We loved it! Our family of 6 (4 little kids ages 9, 6, 4, 9mo) drove up for a 4-day weekend. We really needed some time away from it all, and were hoping to relax at a secluded cabin on the lake in the woods. "Finn House" is exactly this place. We had fun exploring and checking out the incredible ice formations along the rocky shore. We went star-gazing and it was amazing. You could see every star and 3 planets. It was incredible!! We enjoyed sitting by the fireplace in the evenings, relaxing. The cabin itself is spacious for as small as it looks. We also went up to the Summit at Lutsen and drove through the National Forest.
Tips: If you are going in the summer w/ young children - bring life jackets. The cabin is very close to the rocky shore and there are steep drop-offs into the water. It made me a little nervous, but we went in March, so we only went out together w/ the children.
Bring lots of your own groceries and condiments, as there aren't a lot of places to shop for these things in Lutsen. There is one marketplace that has everything you might need in case you forgot something - but you pay for it.
We are planning on coming back annually.
