Cozy Family Getaway!

4 of 5
Our family had a fantastic time in the Log Cabin! Our best memories were playing cards at the dining room table, charades on the deck, roasting hotdogs and marshmallows by campfire, and waking up in the mornings to the beautiful view out the windows! The living room is so cozy with the fireplace and layout. The loft was just perfect for our kids (ages 7 and 10). I'd suggest packing some kitchen towels, or a few rolls of paper towels, and maybe a cookie sheet or tray (there was one in the stove drawer that was handy) for carrying food in and out of the cabin to the fire for roasting. You will get a list of other suggested items when you book your stay which is really helpful! Andy was so friendly and stopped by to meet us as he checked on a few things. There was one family across the way which was nice to know were weren't alone--we city folk aren't used to being in the secluded forest. We enjoyed paddling on the lake, relaxing and cooking as a family, a day trip to hike Mt. Oberg and explore Grand Marais (Artist Point a must!), and lots of time being unplugged and actually having conversations and quality time as a family. I definitely recommend this cabin stay. It is a great combination of rustic and charm.

Cute small rustic cabin in peaceful lake

5 of 5
We were looking for a small rustic cabin in in a quiet place and we found it. The cabin has two small bedrooms, bathroom, eat in kitchen and living room. The living room was cozy with a great view into the woods. We had walking access to lake Gegoka which was a beautiful undeveloped lake. We loved the free access to canoes, we stayed a day and a half and went out canoeing 5 times! The door needs a screen door, there are a lot of mosquitoes. Another nice thing was a kitchen with all utensils you may need to prepare meals and easy access from the kitchen to picnic table and fire pit and grill. The only one thing that seemed excessive and unusual was the non refundable insurance for damage.
