Recent Gull Lake Reviews

This property was as nice as we had hoped for.

5 of 5
This home was all that we had hoped for. It was extremely clean, well furnished, and had everything we were looking for. The kitchen was modern and well furnished with all the "extras" for our use. Though we ate some meals in the dining room, we thoroughly enjoyed the large, screened- in porch overlooking the lake for meals as well as socializing. We also spent a great deal of time on the dock which was large and accommodated lots of people without needing extra chairs. The outside area was well landscaped and cared for. Our family made use of the next door sand volleyball court as well as the paddleboat provided. They had "extra" things for the kids such as outdoor games, inside board games, life jackets, etc. In the evening we all sat around the fire pit socializing/laughing. This home felt like home and made for a great time for all. The manager was easy to communicate with and gave us suggestions for people we could contact when we had a small social gathering. We appreciated her willingness to assist us. Because we were familiar with the area, we were aware of the golf courses, shopping, and other unique venues. As you can probably tell, we highly recommend this property and would love to make a return visit.

Roy Lake property, Nisswa MN

5 of 5
The description and photos were accurate. It was clean and excellent service was provided by the owner and his rep. I would definitely recommend it to a friend or relative. Loved renting the almost new pontoon with a complete canopy for shade. The toys in the garage were thoroughly enjoyed by our young grandsons. Best of all, we were only one mile down the road from our son's Grandview Lodge rental. Perfect for us! Upstairs bedrooms do not have doors but are separated. Loved the well-maintained yard and space. Although there is a flat screen TV in the livingroom, we were so busy with outside activities that we didn't watch it.

As Advertised!!!

My two teens, their two friends and I had the time of our lives at this cabin. The cabin was exactly as the owner advertised. The cabin is a family cottage out of a Norman Rockwell painting...if you just look below the surface, you will see amazing history, beauty in the aged architecture, and flat out awesome times. By the end of the week, all 5 of us had worked into a stress free routine and hated that it was time to go home. This is not a pristine property with Ethan Allen decor, but then that isn't what I was looking for. I was looking for an old fashion cabin where people have come and enjoyed simple ways, and that is exactly what we found. No, you don't want to eat off the floor but the spacious and aged dining room was fabulous and we enjoyed several family meals there. When we didn't eat in the dining room, we were around the fire roasting hot dogs and making s'mores on slightly off kilter lawn chairs...and loved every minute of it. I could have called the owner and received new lawn chairs (he was very generous and clear that all we needed to do was call). This owner did not over sell the property, he represents it as it is. It is simple and rustic and wonderful. If I had any complaint, it would be disrespectful boaters on Gull Lake...not much the owner can do about that. My kids have made it clear they want a return trip. I believe we have established a new family tradition on Gull Lake at one of the last old time cabins around the shore. My daughter's comments: The cabin was amazing! I had no complaints whatsoever. I had the best time! The yard was beautiful and the beach is indescribable! I can't wait to come back! In response to previous reviews, although we didn't use the extra cabin the owner did tell us that there was only cold water in that cabin, so we didn't expect for to have hot water...and we were right. :) Thank you, Owner! I can't wait to come back!
