AMAZING WEEKEND AT THE PIRATE HOUSE!

5 of 5
Several of us stayed at once, and we all have great things to say! 1. The pirate house was great! It was very clean, everything was brand new and working properly, and it had everything that we needed for the weekend! The kitchen was fully stocked with tools, small appliances, and utensils. The grill worked perfectly and we had many nice meals using it. The deck was wonderful to eat and hang out on, and the chairs were nice to relax in. The row boat was great for rowing over to the beach. The owners of the place went above and beyond in helping us before and during our stay. They answered all of our questions and were very friendly. Nan drove us and our luggage over to the house in the pontoon boat so we didn't have to lug everything by row boat. They also picked us up on the last day and took us back to our cars. Such a nice thing for them to do. We really had a great time. The property is amazing. A+! 2. My stay at the pirate house was wonderful! Nan and Donard could not have been more accommodating if they tried! We literally wanted for nothing. From simple toiletries to a full kitchen of supplies to an incredibly cozy and cared for house, this stay was exactly what I was looking for. The house gets a lot of attention (because it looks exactly like a damn boat!), but I never felt like passersby were being intrusive in checking out the house or grabbing a rental flier from the box onshore. Everybody around the island was very respectful. My only suggestions would be to take more pictures of the house now that you've done more work on it (it really is a beauty), include a full inventory of what you have at the house, and maybe let guests know that there is a Meijer, Dairy Queen, and some restaurants within driving distance (this might have been in the guestbook...I actually didn't actually read it. Sorry!). Thank you so much for putting so much love into your home away from home! Hopefully we can do another girls' weekend next summer! 3. Nan and Donard so nice and accommodating! They put up with me calling them several times before our stay to discuss pick up/drop off (thank you again!), plus my incessant inquiries about what amenities were available. I shouldn't have been so worried! The house has everything you could want. Plus the attention to detail is insane! When you’re sitting on the deck and looking out on the water, it feels like you’re actually on the deck of a ship. I loved my stay here and would absolutely love to book again next summer!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

5 of 5
My daughter's softball team had a tournament in Southern Michigan and a few families wanted to stay in a house instead of the normal hotels for this type of trip. I will tell you, all the parents in the group were jealous they were not staying with us. Clean, comfortable, accommodating for all ages and simply a very fun place to stay. 3 Large Mouth Bass tournaments were on the lake and many boats fished right in front of the dock, they caught a ton of fish. From the pool table, ping pong table, grill, this place had everything we could ask for. Jim, Thanks for accommodating and helping us with our memories from summer softball.

LOVELY HOME AND WONDERFUL OWNERS

5 of 5
This property had all we needed and then some! The kitchen was fully stocked, a lovely bottle of wine greeted us upon arrival, the place was super clean, and all the amenities were as described or better. It is even better than the pictures (they recently put wood floors in the dining room area to update the place) which shows they are putting their time and money back into maintaining the already well-maintained property. And the owners could not be more hospitable! They gave us dining suggestions and told us the best way to attend the Renaissance Fair. Tia and Mike were more than accommodating before, during and after our visit. The next time we attend the Fair or any other attractions in SE Michigan we know where we will be staying. Thanks and hope to see you again soon!
