Wonderful Get-away at Shining Shores Cottage

5 of 5
We only stayed two nights at the cottage. Everything was as advertised, Very clean, warm, well maintained and quiet. Nichole provided all the basics that we needed. My wife and I enjoyed the quiet remote setting with a wonderful view of Lake Michigan. We would gladly stay there again. Tom H.

Loved it

5 of 5
My husband and I had our wedding at this house. We invited our parents and siblings and hosted everyone for a few days while we stayed for the whole week. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! The setting was gorgeous and we have the best wedding pictures ever. House is well appointed. The table was large enough to seat all 8 people and there was room for everyone to have a place to sleep. We want to come back again soon! Also, the hot tub was awesome - perfectly situated to watch the sunset. Big Bay is great - you can wade out super far, so I imagine it would be a great place to visit with kids.

Perfect place for vacation

5 of 5
This house and its location are even better than described. Thoughtfully laid out and decorated, it is an ideal place to stay with a large or extended family, offering ample accommodations for rainy days as well as beautiful ones. With two additional family rooms downstairs adjacent to the luxurious kitchen, there are plenty of spaces and good lighting to play cards, curl up and read, watch movies, or play games. The house has a historical significance one can feel and appreciate while staying there as well, which the proprietors have taken special care to preserve. There was nothing wanting in our stay. Its location is understated too, as it is situated perfectly across from a trestle foot bridge and the local lighthouse, and between Lake Superior and the local ice cream shoppe. At night one can hear both the river making its way to the shore, and the waves themselves on the beach. Whether you are interested in a lazy beach vacation or an active recreational one, Eagle River is an ideal place to pursue either.
