Home away from home :))

5 of 5
We stayed here for three nights in February - for our ski trip to Ski Brule. We were two couples, two teenagers, one old lady and an Airedale terrier. And we all had great beds (the dog's bed we actually brought with us :))), nice bathrooms and kitchen with all the utensils to cook our meals. The house is beautiful and very well maintained. It is very spacious, and has everything you can possibly need. It is dog friendly, which was the main reason we picked up this property. But after we stayed there, we would have picked it up for many other reasons. It is actually not very close to Ski Brule, and if you are staying there in the winter - better have 4WD car: our friend's decided to stop right before the little hill in the woods - just after we all pulled out of the driveway. And the car was not able to climb the hill, we had to push it. Also this winter there was pretty much snow there. Though the drive way and the "local" road were pretty well plowed, - it is narrow, and it is in the woods. So try to stay on the road :))) We enjoyed our vacations a lot! Thank you to the owners for letting us stay in their home :)))

It is called Teal Wing for a reason - ducks!

5 of 5
Our family loves Teal Wing on Lake Gogebic!! We try to get back every summer for at least a week of relaxing on the lake. The views from the home to the lake are stunning. Our favorite morning activity is to read on the dock listening to the gentle waves. We see ducks and ducklings every evening and morning as they move down the shore. We pick up a pile of groceries on our way in and just hang out. The lake is clean and good for swimming, or fishing, or water skiing, or kayaking. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and pans and sharp knives so cooking is easy. The basement is great for rowdy teenagers. Lots of comfortable beds and linens. Lake Superior, Porcupine Mountains, Bond Falls are all close by and gorgeous. And if you have a family retreat in mind, book the next door property, Mallard Cove, and then you have two lovely homes with plenty of room for everyone.

Absolutely Awesome!

5 of 5
We stayed at this property for a week with our 5 kids. This cabin wound up being one of our favorite vacations ever! The actual cabin was like Pottery Barn meets the UP. It was so well done and well maintained. My 2 younger girls had an adorable room and I would sit on the porch every morning and drink my coffee looking at Lake Superior. Complete privacy, the water is protected by the bay and we had great swimming. They even had a paddle boat we took to some nearby cliffs. We went to a fish fry at the a Thunder Bay Inn, rented kayaks from Big Bay Outfitters and explored Marquette, about 30 minutes away. We loved the quiet peaceful setting and how modern the cabin was given the somewhat remote location . Our 5 kids thought it was the best cabin ever, and last year we stayed in a 4,000 s.f luxury log cabin in St. Ignace. This was better!
