Secluded Paradise

5 of 5
We just had a great time here. The view and solitude are just outstanding. This year the owner put in a new pool table and foosball table that kept our family occupied for hours. It was really a nice addition and a great way to spend some family time. As always the fishing was good, we even had a little trophy made for who caught the biggest fish. The children’s play area is always a favorite among the kids and with the bone-fire pit nearby makes for an enjoyable evening with the kids playing and the adults enjoying the fire. This is simply a unique location, rustic, secluded, and modern all in one. We will be back.

Relaxing Getaway

5 of 5
The cabin was very clean and just the right size for our family of 5. Our dog Arty, a poodle, settled in nicely right away too-he sometimes is nervous in new environments. Hardwood floors and knotty pine walls added to the whole cabin affect. Although it rained for half of the time we were at the cabin, the kids and I had no problem finding things to do. I liked that there was a washing machine available, and cleaning supplies. The fire place was great and made it cozy when we were stuck inside when it rained. One thing I would point out is that the water from the tap is well water which is hard water. If you are not used to this you may want to bring a jug along from home. When you are arriving, you will have to look for the "Honest Injuns Tourist Trap," a flea market/antique store. The number marker for the cabin is hard to make out. We arrived around 4:30PM and we passed it twice. It's better to arrive in the day time. We hope to return again. It was so peaceful and provided the much needed rest we needed as a family.

Review of our stay

4 of 5
Hi John, We enjoyed our stay and loved the spaciousness of the beach house. The only things we were disappointed in was the blanket on one of the beds was full of holes and didn't even look clean. There were problems with some of the kitchen utensils, such as, no potato peeler, spatulas that are in poor shape. The glass frying pan was burnt on the bottom and couldn't be used and it was way too small. Should have 2 fry pans, one small and one large for a home that size. Not enought towels when we arrived. My daughter had to call and ask for more. The glass tables in the livingroom were not clean - very smeared. The microwave wasn't clean inside and out. Very dusty. The only patio chair was filthy dirty and why was there only one? The front porch should have been swept, noticed that 1st thing. Your cleaning person is not doing such a good job. We did love the space and the kids enjoyed the beach. Just wished the furniture ( the dining chairs) were full of tears and rips, the cushions set on top helped but I would think a garage sale would have nicer chairs than them. For $2000/week stay we expected a little higher quality of some of the furniture. My husband and I have rented other homes on the lake for lot less money and were very clean and well kept. If a few things could get taken care of it would be a great place to stay. We might think about next year but would want to know that these things mentioned would be taken care of. Sincerely Kathy Grunewald
