Very cute!

4 of 5
We really loved sleepy Union Pier and this little cottage! My daughters adored the sleeping loft. The cottage is laid out very well to make use of the space - there were four of us and we didn't feel cramped at all, especially with the large and nicely furnished screened porch. The pictures and description are 100% accurate - it actually feels bigger than it looks in the photos. There's a skylight in the bathroom that makes the kitchen and bathroom very bright. The beach is beautiful, close, and not crowded. There is a restaurant you can walk to through the backyard that had very good food. Kitchen had plenty of functionality for us - fridge, microwave, coffee maker, an extra large toaster oven, and I think maybe an electric skillet, also a gas grill outside. I don't cook much on vacation, but you could if you wanted to. No dishwasher, stove or washer/dryer. The only thing I had a little trouble with was getting the beach towels dry overnight without a dryer or space to hang them in the sun - if you get your towels very wet like my girls do, you might want to bring two sets so one can dry while you use the other. Overall a very nice stay!

Perfect for a Small Family Beach Vacation!!

5 of 5
We very much enjoyed our stay at Shorewinds and it is well worth the rental price. In our six years of visiting Union Pier, this was easily the nicest 1 to 2 bedroom house we’ve stayed in. Upon our arrival, we found the cottage to be very clean, beautifully landscaped and well equipped for a beach vacation. It is right near the entry for a public beach access (which has pretty easy access for Union Pier standards), but any concerns about privacy are solved through the landscaping and a decorative fence. Some of the highlights include: the convenience of a second bathroom, washer/dryer and gas grill; a really nice fire pit that is well protected from wind; and extras like nice beach chairs and nice outdoor seating. The kitchen is fairly large and well equipped. We will certainly look to rent this property again.

Wonderful visit!

5 of 5
My husband and I traveled here from Chicago with out 3 year old Boxer dog (about an hour and fifteen minutes from downtown). It was a great relaxing weekend. The house is really comfortable and top of the line in every way. We loved everything about it. Plenty of space, a great kitchen and bathrooms, and several different areas to sit and relax (both inside and out). Our favorite of space to hang out was the big screened in porch and we spent a lot of time out there. The constant running water sound from the outside fountain was so relaxing and the furniture so comfortable, we never wanted to leave. We also really enjoyed the Union Pier area. Walked to beach and to get coffee in the morning, strolled through the neighborhood, drove to Warren Dunes State Park to visit the dog beach (about 10 minutes by car), and found everything we needed within easy walking or driving distance. Can't say enough good things about Paul, the owner. So easy to work with and very responsive. Would stay here again in a second.
