Great two-month stay

5 of 5
My family and I had a fantastic stay for two months beginning in October until just before Christmas. Mike and Kristal are great hosts, and were very responsive to the few issues that arose during our time there. Given the length of our stay, the primary thing that stands out to us is how comfortable we were living in the home, as opposed to just staying there for a short vacation. The home is completely furnished, and the owners clearly put a lot of thought into making their guests comfortable. We were caring for our one-year-old son while we were staying there, and with a few specific baby things that we brought with us, we had everything that we needed. Another thing that stood out to us is that the house is even nicer in person that it appears in its photos. It really came to feel like home by the end of our stay. Finally, its location was just great. Our family had only one car while we were there, but it was never an issue because the walk into town was so short. Also, there are great places nearby, notably Frenchie’s and Bay Bread Co. In short, a great place to stay in Traverse City.

Beautiful property. Great location.

Great property! It was larger than I had anticipated. The two bedrooms were quite roomy. It was immaculate. If the weather had been warmer it was in walking distance of downtown. I'd stay here again.

Stay here! You won't regret it!

The was our 2nd year staying at this lovely cottage and it was another wonderful one!!! Great TC weather topped off our great stay at this wonderful, homy cottage!! PROS: -Extremely clean -Extremely well-stocked everything (all the amenities of home and then some!!) -Great location (seems to be 5 minutes from everything; downtown TC, the mall, etc.) -Situated on a fantastic lake (it's warmer than the bays, very clean! -Nice, newer dock (great spot to fish from) -Ample seating outdoors -Patio area is a great spot to eat lunch/dinner with fantastic views of the lake -The deck has 2 nice bistro sets which are great for eating lunch or enjoying morning coffee -The front room is nice and sunny with GREAT views of the lake (large windows) -Furniture is extremely comfortable -The "cabin" room houses the TV, a SUPER long, comfy couch and a game table -a favorite spot to play late night games (there are many games there for both kids and adults) -The downstairs game room is a nice spot for rainy days (ping pong table, foosball table, gaming system for older kids) -Plenty of recreational amenities (tons of life vests, a paddle boat, 2 kayaks, fishing poles) -The bedrooms are spacious and very inviting -Bunk room for the kids is AWESOME (and there's a small bonus room in the bunk room that is fantastic if you have a baby and will be bringing along a pack n' play) -Beach is sandy and ample for kids to play -Swimming area is shallow enough for kids to swim close by shore -Nice floating dock CONS: -To us, the only real drawback of this house might be the landscaping just on the yard facing the lake. This house is absolutely adorable and, while it does not at all effect the functionality of the house, the clearing out of the property that sits on the water (going up both sides of the hill and around the basement area) would make this property so attractive. This is really the only reason we gave this home a 4 out of 5 stars. I wouldn't even really list the landscaping as a "con", but I figured people would think it was too good to be true if there weren't at least one! If you are a family looking for a wonderful vacation spot, this truly is the place for you. Silver Lake is beautiful and, for us, it's a nice break from the traffic of downtown TC. You're close to it all, but far enough away to have a peaceful vacation!!!! Thank you to the owners for another wonderful stay!
